Interventional radiology studies are conducted in cooperation with the Surgical Clinic, the Department of Vascular Surgery, the Department of Medicine 4, the Department of Nephropathology, the Department of Medicine 1, and the Department of Nuclear Medicine. This includes the establishment of the radiofrequency ablation to efferent and afferent sympathetic nerves of the renal artery wall and interventional treatment options in patients with refractory hypertonia. Further fields of work consist in the development of an endovascular, transvenous biopsy technique via femoral access as well as selective internal radiotherapy and procedures of percutaneous thermal or non-thermal, CT-controlled tumor ablation.
